Chasing Your Dream Job

This weekend I decided to head down to visit my girlfriend, who is attending IU Medical School, and while we know that living an hour apart is going to be tough we never realized how hard it was until today around 2:00. She and I have been together for the last five years and honestly we’ve both been rather selfish with doing what we want instead of really thinking about one another. She wants to be a doctor, and I have no idea where my life is taking me. Right now I work in a fast paced environment working with Social Media, Websites and doing Technical Support for the Home Improvement Biz. However, I know that my heart’s not in it and I’m doing it really for the week to week paycheck. That’s why I recently picked up a job at Pike High School as an assistant swim coach. ...

Importance of your Avatar

I’m sure that you’ve heard the old phrase “Don’t Judge a book by it’s cover” but is that really how we operate? I know that I am guilty of judging someone based on their looks. When we are looking for something or someone we look at links, videos, and images. What I want to talk about is your personal appearance, particularly in your online avatar. If you were to show up to an interview in a pair of ripped jeans, a dirty polo and basketball shoes would you be received the same as if you were to show up wearing a professionally cleaned and tailored suit? I think not! ...

Bad seats, long lay-overs

Hello everybody! Just so everyone knows I made it to Ireland safe and sound. The flight was long, and very boring and also very uncomfortable. However, I did realize that Shannon International has FREE WI-FI, hence the reason I am writing right now. So after I get out of the airport I should be able to do some visiting of the area and being able to enjoy my self in the land of my forefathers. ...

One Week

One more week to go until the venture over to Ireland. I’m starting to get excited and nervous all at the same time. I’ve finally started my homework that is supposed to be turned in before I leave, but it’s hard to actually get the motivation to do it. One assignment is done, but now I need to find a way to get the book read and answer the questions.

Ireland Study Abroad

Well, To start off I just want to say that this will be an interesting trip. If anyone wants to know what I am planning on doing throughout the trip there is a link to the website that has some of the information on it. I will be attending a second round of “Ireland trippers” and will be taking a Sociology class and a Biology class (which Sarah is jealous of) that involves a lot of nature walks, as well as bird watching. Throughout the trip we will be visiting various aspects of traditional Ireland, including farm houses (where we will get an amazing dinner), castles (jealous much?) and beach scenery. Now I know what you are thinking. “Beaches in Ireland???” Yes, there are beaches in Ireland, however it is only going to be about 60 degrees in the water so we are NOT going swimming. ...
